ColecoVision 的前身是 Coleco Telstar 系列 遊戲機，Coleco 透過它熟悉了家用遊戲市場。

ColecoVision 於 1982 年 6 月釋出，售價 195 美元。[1] 1982 年 11 月，Coleco 面臨遊戲機短缺的擔憂。[2] 儘管如此，1982 年仍售出了 50 萬臺。[3] 但緊隨其後，1983 年 8 月，美國生產短暫停止，以騰出產能生產 Coleco Adam 電腦，後者使用相同的製造設施。[3]

ColecoVision 的 CPU 是 8 位 NEC D780C-1，它是 Zilog Z80A 的變種，以 3.58 兆赫的速度執行。[1][6][9]

ColecoVision 有 1 千位元組的 RAM 和 16 千位元組的影片 RAM。[9]

硬體

它使用德州儀器 TMS9928A 進行圖形輸出，可以顯示 32 個精靈，並從 32 種可能的顏色中同時顯示 16 種顏色。[6][9]
