PC Engine SuperGrafx 於 1989 年 12 月 8 日在日本釋出[1] - 僅僅在 1987 年初代 PC Engine 釋出兩年後[2][3]。該系統據說在 1990 年 5 月在法國發布[1]。

SuperGrafx 在商業上並不成功，只售出了 75,000 臺主機[2][3]。一個 CD 擴充套件卡曾計劃推出，但最終未釋出[4]。

技術

HuC6280A 處理器，類似於 PC Engine SuperGrafx 中使用的處理器。

PC Engine SuperGrafx 使用一個 8 位 HuC6280A 處理器，以 7.16 兆赫的速度執行[5][6]。

該系統有 32 千位元組的 RAM 和 128 千位元組的 VRAM[6]。

SuperGrafx 與初代 PC Engine 相比多了一個影片處理器，儘管效能受到瓶頸的限制[7][8][9]。
