Thumby 是由 TinyDuino 產品線發展而來的，特別是行動式 TinyPocket。
該系統在俄亥俄州阿克倫開發和生產。[1]
2016 年 5 月，一個早期的 Thumby 首次在灣區迷你製造者博覽會上作為一個個人專案展出。[2] 2021 年 4 月，該裝置重新設計，使用新發布的 RP2040 處理器。[2]
該裝置的 Kickstarter 專案於 2021 年 9 月 28 日啟動。[3]
儘管 2021 年晶片短缺導致了供應鏈挑戰，但仍採購到足夠的零件，並在 2021 年 10 月生產了 10,000 臺裝置。[4]
