   1.  General considerations 
       a.  Evaluation of patients for interventional  proceduresrequires a knowledge  of appropriate  indications and contraindications, objectives, alternatives,  and possible  complications.  Coordination with the  referring physician is essential to ensure appropriate  patient selection and, for biopsy, appropriate approach.
