Envizions 是一家位於阿拉巴馬州安尼斯頓的公司。[1]

EVO 智慧遊戲機的開發可以追溯到 2003 年左右，當時它被稱為 EVO: Phase One。[2] 還有一個以媒體為導向的型號，EVO: Trinity HD3，也已釋出。[3]

2004 年 8 月 4 日，Envizions 公司成立。[4] EVO 智慧遊戲機最初是在 2006 年的 E3 上展示的，當時它被稱為 EVO: Phase One。[5][6]

計劃推出與遊戲機配套的 EVO 品牌能量飲料，旨在提高免疫力和耐力。[7][8]

釋出

最多有幾百臺 EVO 智慧遊戲機在 2008 年或 2009 年發貨[9]，具體取決於來源[10][4] 一篇 Linux 雜誌 文章將 2008 年 11 月 20 日列為在美國和加拿大面向開發人員的釋出日期，2009 年的某個未指明日期為一般釋出日期。[7]

基礎款 Linux EVO 智慧遊戲機售價為 399 美元。[5] 執行 Windows 7 作業系統的版本售價為 579 美元，配備 Blu Ray 光碟機的 Windows 7 版本售價為 679 美元。[5] Linux 雜誌 建議採用退款制度，可以將遊戲機的價格降至 250 美元。[7]

EVO 智慧遊戲機被一些人認為是 Indrema L600 的精神繼任者，因為兩者都試圖成為早期相對開放且執行 Linux 的家用遊戲機，[11] 儘管這兩款遊戲機本身並不相關。

計算

EVO 智慧遊戲機搭載了雙核 AMD Athlon 64 x2 5600+ CPU，主頻為 2.9 GHz。[4] 使用了 ATI HD 3200 GPU，[4] 該系統可以透過 DVI 埠或 HDMI 埠輸出高達 1080p 的解析度。[7] 該系統擁有 2 GB DDR2 記憶體。[4][5]

硬體

至少有一個來源表明 CPU 是水冷的。[8] 如果屬實，這可能是其時代唯一採用這種技術的量產遊戲機。

該系統擁有 120 GB 硬碟驅動器用於內部儲存。[4] 該系統預設配備 DVD 光碟機，但高階版本配備了 Blu-Ray 光碟機。[5] 與這代的大多數遊戲機不同，DVD 光碟機通常不用於遊戲媒體。遊戲以多種方式提供，包括數字方式、透過 SD 卡物理方式或透過 Amiga 標題的雲服務。[17]

據說該系統支援基於指紋和語音的生物識別身份驗證。[7]

該系統照片中使用的是與 PlayStation 2 或 3 類似風格的控制器，在中央左側和右側有兩個模擬搖桿，在左上角有一個方向鍵，在右上角有面按鈕。[7]

EVO Direct 線上服務用於將遊戲下載到遊戲機。[7] 也計劃推出遊戲流媒體服務。[18]

Crystal Space 是為平臺上的遊戲開發者提供的服務。[7]

集成了 PitchBuzz 社交媒體服務和一個未指明網際網路電視臺的服務。[7]

EVO 2 DX

EVO 2 DX 是一款基於 Windows 7 的遊戲機，執行 AM3 插槽處理器和 ATI Radeon HD 4200。[5] 它還包含一臺 Android 2.3 平板電腦，用於混合遊戲。[5]
