梅西耶 58 (也稱為M58 和NGC 4579) 是一個w:棒旋星系，距離我們大約 6800 萬w:光年，位於w:星座 室女座。它是在w:1779 年由w:查爾斯·梅西耶發現的[4]。M58 是w:室女座星系團中最亮[5] 的星系之一。在 M58 中已經觀測到兩顆w:超新星，w:SN 1988A 和w:SN 1989M[2]。
